Valid Eval periodically releases software updates that require a brief system restart. This article explains what you can expect during a planned maintenance window.

What Is Happening

We are deploying a software update that requires restarting parts of the system. This is routine maintenance and no data is at risk. The update improves the platform and keeps your program running on the latest version of Valid Eval.

What to Expect

The maintenance window shown in the banner represents the full expected timeframe for the update. Within that window, you may experience a few short periods where the system is temporarily unavailable. This is not a sustained outage for the entire window — it is typically several brief interruptions as different parts of the system restart in sequence.

During those brief interruptions you may see:

•  A page that does not load or returns an error

•  A login screen when you were already logged in

•  Slower than usual response times

? Tip:  If you hit an error or a blank page during the maintenance window, wait a minute and try refreshing. These interruptions are short and the system will come back online quickly.
A Note on Timing

The maintenance window shown in the banner covers the expected timeframe, but the actual work may begin a few minutes before the window opens or complete a few minutes after it closes. If you see brief disruptions just outside the stated window, that is normal and expected. The system will be fully available again once the update is complete.

What to Do

If you are actively working - save anything in progress before the window begins if possible. Scores and form entries that have already been submitted are safe. If you are mid-entry when an interruption occurs, you may need to re-enter that data after the system comes back.

If you hit an error - wait one to two minutes and try refreshing the page. Most interruptions resolve quickly on their own.

If the system is still unavailable after the maintenance window has closed - contact us at support@valideval.com and we will look into it right away.
